What We Do & How it Works…
1. Take Job Order
At a time convenient to you, one of our experienced Consultants will come to you to discuss in detail your specified requirement.
2. Database Search
After establishing a detailed report of exactly what you are looking for, our Consultants will search our extensive Candidate Database for any suitable matches for the position.
Along with an extensive Database search, Consultants trained specifically in advertising, will advertise the position on several Internet sites including Seek.com, jobsjobsjobs.com and Career One. Print media advertising is also available upon request.
4. Resume Screening
Our Consultants will screen every applicant resume for the position. All candidates, unsuitable or suitable, will be promptly contacted and advised of the outcome or when they may expect contact from us.
5. Telephone Screening
Extensive telephone screening will be conducted on those candidates, whose resumes are deemed as suitable for the specified position, further narrowing down the field to find the most suited candidate for the position.
Consultants experienced in effective Interviewing techniques, including Behavioural Interviewing, will conduct interviews with candidates deemed as suitable from telephone screen. Interviews are extensive and thorough, covering past histories and behaviours as well as what the candidate is ideally seeking in their career.
Of the candidates deemed successful from interviews, 3 extensive reference checks with previous employers will be carried out. These reference checks focus on the past behavior and performance of candidates to access their suitability for the position.
8. Reference Checks
Of candidates deemed successful from interview, 3 extensive reference checks with past employers will be carried out to judge the performance and suitability of the candidate.
A shortlist of 3-5 of the most suitable candidates will be presented to the client. Included is the employment history of the candidate, qualifications, testing results, reference checks (if requested) and profile as perceived by the interviewing Consultant.
10. Client Interviews
From the presented shortlist, clients will select which candidates they choose to interview. Your Consultant will organise all the relevant details for the interview with chosen candidates. Upon completion of interviews, your Consultant will discuss with you the feedback from interviews and inform candidates of the outcomes.
Your Consultant will offer the successful candidate on your behalf and discuss any questions or issues with both the candidate and the client as they arise.
A guarantee period is standard with all placements. A 3 month replacement guarantee is standard and is valid with all placements and should be discussed with your Consultant. A 6 month replacement guarantee is available for a slightly increased placement fee.
13. Placement Management
Our job does not just end with placement. Your Consultant will be in regular contact with you and the candidate to ensure that all expectations are being met. Performance evaluations will be carried out during the initial 3 months, and we will remain in contact after the initial three months. Your Consultant is always available to provide support and advice to the client and candidate alike.
Permanent Recruitment is the successful sourcing and placement of a candidate into a client organisation on a permanent basis. The listed Recruitment Process is specifically related to Permanent Recruitment. When an employee is placed permanently in a client organization, a placement fee is charged for services provided by Smart Employment Solutions. This placement fee is usually a specified percentage based on the salary package level of the successful candidate. With Permanent Recruitment, every placement has a 3 month guarantee period as standard. Should the placed candidate leave of their own accord, or due to performance based issues, Smart Employment Solutions will conduct the entire recruitment process again and find a suitable replacement for no extra charge. A 6 month guarantee period is available for a marginally increased fee and can be discussed with your Smart Employment Solutions Consultant.
Occasionally clients require staff for special projects or to cover annual leave etc, but on a Temporary basis. Smart Employment Solutions is able to fully facilitate this, with a number of temporary staff on-call at any time. Temporary staff remain as employees of Smart Employment Solutions and are paid by us on the client’s behalf. The client will be invoiced for hours worked by the candidate as well as a percentage fee which covers Services & Administration. All temporary staff have an unconditional guarantee, and will be replaced free of charge as long as Smart Employment Solutions are notified within a reasonable period of time from commencement of assignment.
Permanent Placement Fees

Our fees are industry standard and operate on a sliding scale based on salary level. We are open to negotiations based on such factors as exclusivity and number of positions, please discuss this with your SES Consultant.
Temporary Placement Fees
Fees for temporary placements vary depending on the specified position. Your SES Consultant will provide you with a detailed fee quotation prior to sourcing temporary employees. Quotations are based on the specific duties of the role and will detail all cost inclusions.
We understand that you may not always require the full recruitment process from an agency, but you might need help with certain aspects.
