Types of Apprenticeships

Trade Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship or traineeship is a great way of combining training and practical hands-on experience so you can pursue your career in the trade industry. During your apprenticeship, each year, your wage will increase.

Generally, you will work full-time and may also have time each week to undertake study at your training organisation, or to complete units in your training program while at work.

School-based Apprenticeships

A school-based apprenticeship allows you to start a qualification and a career path, before you’ve even left school. It’s a great way to gain work experience, references, and real skills that employers are looking for.

Generally, you will work one day per week (depending on your host employer needs, you may also be able to increase the days you work during school holidays) and this forms part of your school curriculum. You earn money on the days you work too!

Once you finish school, we support you to complete your apprenticeship, increasing the days worked with your current host employer to full time 38hrs per week or placing you with a host employer looking for a full-time apprentice.
